Mozilla Root Program Roundtable – Draft Agenda (90 minutes)

Welcome and Introductions (10 minutes)

• Quick introductions
• Purpose of the roundtable
• Rules of Engagement: collaborative and respectful dialogue, stick to time allotted

1 – Compliance Expectations and Problematic Practices (30 minutes)

Goal: Clarify Mozilla's concerns and expectations around CA conduct and policy interpretation

• Overview of behavior that may lead to listing of compliance issues or distrust
• Review and propose updates to the Problematic Practices wiki page
• Discuss Mozilla’s expectations re: policy compliance and incident disclosure

2 – Recommended Practices and Root Store Policy Improvements (20 minutes)

Goal: Improve clarity and coverage of Mozilla guidance

• Discuss additions or clarifications to policies and practices
• Review of Mozilla’s current Recommended Practices
• Add, triage, and/or prioritize GitHub issues in the Mozilla Root Store Policy GitHub repo

3 – Community Feedback and Concerns (20 minutes)

Goal: Address broader concerns raised by CAs and community members

• Address the need for more community-driven technical support for end users – certificate revocation/replacement, automation, and shorter validity periods
• Review recurring CA issues and their causes (e.g. unclear guidance in the BRs or root store policies)
• Other issues or concerns

Wrap-Up and Next Steps (10 minutes)

• Summarize key takeaways and any consensus items
• Identify next steps and action items
• Gather feedback on roundtable format and the future discussion of other topics
