Important! Impact of planned test infra activities on subprojects release schedule after Kubernetes 1.31 GA date

as you know K8s test infra team has a set of very important activities planned for August. This email is about reminding everyone to consider those activities when planning for subproject releases planned right after Kubernetes 1.31 GA date (13th of August as of today).

More specifically, if a SCL subproject is planning a release to support Kubernetes 1.31, I highly recommend to plan for such a release in the two days following the 1.31 GA date (14th/15th of August). The more you delay, the higher the chances that your release date will overlap with K8s test infra team planned move of the Prow control plane, which might cause some unavailability or issues to SCL subproject’s test and release automation.

I want to take the opportunity to thank the K8s test infra team for the awesome job they are doing, and to remind everyone to take a look at ongoing activities and to step up in case they need some information or support along the way.
