As an observation, it looks like there hasn't been much traffic here
lately!

I love the talking RSS reader. I'm using it on my Droid as I drive to
work (1+ hour commute each way). I have a few suggestions.

1. Tagging. I think it would be great to have a button for tagging,
rather than go to the menu. The menu is great, if you're not driving!
If there were a button the size of the "Next" button, it would be much
easier to tag items for follow-up once I get in the office.

2. The voice! Not that I mind having Steven Hawkings read me my RSS
feeds, but I would prefer the sexy voice that comes with my Droid (or
Majel Barrett, if you can find her voice). I'm not sure how hard it
would be to get into the built-in voice API stuff.

I'm willing to help out, too, if you want. I've got some coding
experience, but I'm rusty.

Again, great app. I use it every day!

Indeed. This is pretty much in maintenance mode as my time and attention
have been grabbed by other endeavors.

Great to hear that!

That seems reasonable. But where would you put it?

I understand.

I experimented a while back in using the integrated text-to-speech engine
based on SVOX. Unfortunately, I find the response time to be much slower,
introducing silences between sentences (even for moderately long
utterances). I intended to put the code and a demo package out for this on
GoogleCode, but never got around to it. The voice may be nicer but
personally I find the lag too annoying. I could dig it up if you want to
try it.

Now wouldn't that be nice :-). I'm afraid synthetic voices and
text-to-speech aren't quite that good yet.

Thanks for saying so, that is motivating.
